Incense
Traditional Tibetan incense is purely hand prepared from highly flavored medicinal herbs. It consists of saffron, Nutmeg, Luang (cloves), Cardamom, Banslochen, Kapoor, Kusum Flower, Barra, Jaipatri, Gaulochen, white sandalwood, Sal and other precious Gems. The combination of these genuine scented substances makes incense richer and superior quality. This incense is totally absent of chocking and camphor smell and is also non-toxic. Generally, Tibetan incense is used for Puja offering and purification, but is also used as air-freshener, which keeps one's surroundings scented. Some of the samples are mentioned in the picture gallery. |

Wild honey
Himalayan cliff honey are collected from the wild bee colonies Apis Laboriosa and Apis dorsata found in the isolated forest and rock in Himalayan mountains (ranging 1200 - 3500mtrs.) of Nepal . The world's largest honey bee, Apis Laboriosa (the giant Himalayan honey bee) is a wild bee. The cliff honey hunters are a tribe of Gurungs in central Nepal who follow the tradition of honey hunting, a tradition passed down since generations. The bees are driven away from the honeycomb by smoke. After this, the honey portion of the hive is brought down in baskets. People waiting, near the foot of the trees, squeeze honey from the comb into earthen pots. This honey is colleted from the herbs, so it is also called as "compound medicine" by the Himalayan Vaidhyas (Physicians). Some of the samples are mentioned in the picture gallery. |
